This Data Sharing Policy applies to all journals published by the International Academic Research Consortium (IARCON). All IARCON journals adhere to this policy to promote transparency, reproducibility, research integrity, and the responsible sharing of research data. This policy is developed in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and internationally recognized best practices for open and responsible research.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to encourage authors to make the data supporting their published research available whenever possible, thereby enhancing the transparency, reproducibility, and reliability of scientific findings.
Data Sharing
Authors are strongly encouraged to share the research data, datasets, software, code, protocols, and other supporting materials that underpin the results presented in their manuscripts. Data sharing enables other researchers to verify findings, reproduce analyses, and advance scientific knowledge.
Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to deposit research data in recognized public or institutional data repositories prior to publication.
Data Availability Statement
Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript describing:
If data cannot be shared due to legal, ethical, privacy, confidentiality, or contractual obligations, authors should clearly explain the reason within the Data Availability Statement.
Data Citation
Shared datasets should be properly cited in the reference list using accepted citation standards. Where available, authors should include persistent identifiers such as Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) or accession numbers to facilitate data discovery and reuse.
Ethical and Legal Considerations
Authors must ensure that shared data comply with all applicable ethical, legal, institutional, and regulatory requirements. Data containing confidential, proprietary, or personally identifiable information should be anonymized or appropriately protected before being shared.
Research involving human participants must protect participant privacy and confidentiality in accordance with applicable ethical standards and data protection regulations.
Editorial Assessment
Editors may request access to supporting research data during the peer review or editorial process when necessary to verify the validity or integrity of the research findings. Authors are expected to cooperate with reasonable requests for data verification.
Exceptions
The journal recognizes that unrestricted data sharing may not always be possible due to:
In such cases, authors should provide an explanation in the manuscript and, where feasible, indicate how qualified researchers may request access to the data.
Responsibility of Authors
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, integrity, preservation, and accessibility of the data they choose to share. Shared datasets should accurately reflect the findings reported in the published article.
Commitment to Open Science
IARCON and all its journals support the principles of open science and encourage responsible data sharing to improve research transparency, reproducibility, collaboration, and public trust in scholarly publishing. While data sharing is strongly encouraged, the journal recognizes that legitimate ethical, legal, or confidentiality considerations may limit data availability in certain circumstances.
