Author Guidelines for the International Academic Research Consortium.

 

About the Consortium:

The International Academic Research Consortium is an Open Access Bi-Monthly International Journal published by iARCON. The journal adheres to all standard protocols, ethics, and guidelines. The inaugural issue was released on October 10, 2020; with the first regular issue being released in September-October 2020.

 

Aim and Scope:

The International Academic Research Consortium aims to disseminate high-quality research in the field of applied medical sciences. The scope of the journal encompasses but is not limited to:

- Original research articles

- Review articles

- Case studies

- Short communications

- Letters to the Editor

Submission Guidelines:

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts adhering to the following guidelines:

 

Manuscript Preparation:

All the Manuscripts should be prepared in English. Use clear and concise language; try to avoid jargon wherever possible. Ensure that the manuscript follows the prescribed format and structure as mentioned in the Author Guidelines. 

 

Submission Process:

Manuscripts can only be submitted online through our submission system. Offline submissions are not accepted. To submit your manuscript, authors must be registered with the online submission system.

 

Formatting Requirements:

 

Manuscripts should be formatted according to the Journal guidelines mentioned. The Journal accepts manuscripts following the MLA 9th Edition citation style for references.

Peer Review Process:

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure standardised quality and integrity of the research published. Authors should ensure that their manuscript is kept anonymous of their identity. This is crucial to avoid biases and facilitate an authentic peer review process.

Ethical Considerations:

Authors must adhere to ethical standards in their research and manuscript preparation. Any conflicts of interest should be disclosed upon submission through open dialogue. 

Publication Fee:

The journal charges a nominal publication fee to cover the costs of publication and Journal maintenance.

Manuscript Categories

Format and Structure for Manuscript Submission

Original Research Articles:

  • Title: Write a concise and accurate title that reflects the content of the research.
  • Abstract: Structured abstract including Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions should not exceed the 250 word limit.
  • Keywords: Keywords should highlight the main topics and terminologies of your research.
  • Introduction: The introduction should mention the context of the study along with the research question/objective.
  • Materials and Methods: Detailed description of materials, equipment, and methods used must be provided. 
  • Results: Results or findings must be appropriately presentation in the format of tables, figures, and graphs; wherever applicable.
  • Discussion: This section must include the interpretation of study’s results, its implications, and limitations.
  • Conclusion: The summary contains a brief of the main findings and future directions by the researcher. 
  • References: This Journal follows the MLA 9th Edition citation style.

Review Articles:

  • Title: Write a title that reflects the topic you have covered in the review. 
  • Abstract: Structured abstract summarising the main topics covered should be limited to 250 words.
  • Keywords: Keywords representing the main themes of the review should be anywhere between 3-5.
  • Introduction: It should contain an overview about the scope of the review topic that is being covered. 
  • Body: The body must contain detailed discussion of relevant literature. It must be organised by its themes or topics.
  • Conclusion: The summary contains a brief of the main findings and future directions by the researcher. 
  • References: This Journal follows the MLA 9th Edition citation style.

 

Case Studies:

  • Title: The title must be descriptive of the case presented.
  • Abstract: It should contain a crisp summary of the case, including background, presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome in under 150 words. 
  • Keywords: Keywords representing the main aspects of the case should be anywhere between 3-5.
  • Introduction: It should include all the background information and context of the case.
  • Case Presentation: Detailed description of the case history, examination findings, investigations, and management conducted during the case study must be presented.
  • Discussion: A detailed analysis of the case; including differential diagnosis, management decisions, and lessons learned must be presented by the author.
  • Conclusion: Key points and implications must be summarized to form a conclusion.
  • References: This journal follows a MLA 9th Edition citation style.

 

Short Communications:

  • Title: The author must clearly state the content of the communication.
  • Abstract: A brief summary of 150 words about the communication must be mentioned.
  • Keywords: There should be 3-5 keywords representing the main topics covered.
  • Introduction: It should include the context and purpose of the communication.
  • Body: It should contain a concise presentation of the main findings or message.
  • Conclusion: There should be a summary highlighting the key points or implications of the communication.
  • References: This journal follows a MLA 9th Edition citation style.

 

Letters to the Editor:

  • Title: It should be reflective of the content of the letter.
  • Body: It must include a clear and concise expression of the author's opinion or response.
  • References: If applicable, references should follow MLA 9th Edition citation style.

MLA 9th Edition Citation Process: Journal Article

 

 

Step 1: Gather Information

 

Before creating your citation, gather all the necessary information about the journal article, including:

- Author(s) name(s)

- Title of the article

- Name of the journal

- Volume and issue number

- Publication date

- Page numbers

- DOI or URL (if applicable)

 

Step 2: Format the Citation

 

MLA citation for a journal article is in the following format:

 

Author Last Name, First Name. "Title of Article." *Title of Journal*, vol. Volume Number, no. Issue Number, Publication Year, page numbers. 

 

Step 3: Example Citation:

Let's create a citation for the journal article "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare" by John Smith, published in the journal "Health Informatics":

 

- Author: John Smith

- Title: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare

- Journal: Health Informatics

- Volume: 12

- Issue: 3

- Publication Year: 2023

- Page numbers: 45-60

 

Step 4: Construct the Citation

 

After using the MLA format, the citation appears as the following:

 

Smith, John. "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare." *Health Informatics*, vol. 12, no. 3, 2023, pp. 45-60.

 

Step 5: Additional Information

 

If the article has a DOI or URL, include this information at the end of the citation. For example:

 

Smith, John. "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare." *Health Informatics*, vol. 12, no. 3, 2023, pp. 45-60. DOI: 10.1234/56789.

 

Step 6: In-Text Citation

When referencing the journal article within your text, use the author's last name and page number(s) in parentheses. For example: (Smith 47)

 

Step 7: Bibliography or Works Cited Page

Include the full citation in your bibliography or works cited page. Organize it alphabetically following the author's last name.
