Designing and Examining a Digital Business Transformation Model and its Role in Developing Green Intellectual Capital: An Empirical Study in the Oil Sector
This study aims to examine the impact of digital business transformation on green intellectual capital, with a particular focus on the Maysan Oil Company in Iraq. The research relied on a methodology that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. A new model was developed that captures the dimensions of digital business transformation (digital technology, digital strategy, digital security, digital infrastructure, culture of change, technical integration, digital training, digitization and automation) and green intellectual capital (green human capital, green structural capital and green relational capital). Interviews were conducted with experts in digital business transformation at PetroChina and Maysan Oil Company, as well as 15 business management experts. Field data was collected through a questionnaire that included 72 administrative leaders at Maysan Oil Company. The qualitative analysis relied on thematic analysis (content analysis) using the Maxqda interview content analysis program, while the quantitative aspect was analyzed using the SMART PLS program. The results showed a positive and statistically significant correlation between digital business transformation and green intellectual capital. The study indicated that enhancing digital business transformation through customized training programs may facilitate the implementation of green intellectual capital. These findings provide theoretical and practical insights, especially in light of the complex competitive environment facing companies.
