Purpose- The purpose of this paper is presenting a New Model for Prioritizing Effective Indicators in Evaluation of R & D Units of Manufacturing Companies. Design/methodology/approach- In this research a new   general pattern is proposed to evaluate research and development units by using combinational method of WBM and  DEMATEL. Findings- As a result of prioritization of evaluation criteria for R&D units (in Guilan province companies) with the aid of proposed pattern, financial criteria because of their most branches will be at the first priority. Research limitations/implications- Considering the importance of research and development units, we suggest that another section with the title of” diagnosis” with the aid of any fault detection method like  FTA3,FMEA4, MORT5, HAZOP6 and etc. be added to the pattern of this research. Practical implication-The case study is Guilan province companies. And the goal of analyze is that with the utilization of a step-by-step proposed pattern prioritization of affective indexes on evaluation of mentioned units in considered companies. Originality/value- According to the fact that every evaluation method has its advantages and disadvantages. So the combination of models in order to improve evaluation process can help decision makers to investigate performance of organizations in more details
