Along the history of the humankind, builders were people respected by the society and in each region of the globe there are a series of customs and habits related to the construction of the house. The purpose of this paper is to identify the main construction materials used to build the homes in rural areas from Romania. We also identify the main traditions for organizing the construction works as well as the tools that they use. The focus of the article is to record and popularize the history of old simple construction technics used in building houses.
