Born on February 8th, 1977, in Libya, Dr. Layla's academic journey began with a strong foundation laid at Misurata Central High School. She pursued her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Misurata, Libya, graduating in 1998. Driven by her passion for understanding the complexities of parasitic organisms, she furthered her education, obtaining a Master of Science degree from Assiut University, Egypt, in 2004. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a Ph.D. in Molecular Parasitology at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia, which she successfully completed in 2013.

Dr. Layla's academic and professional journey is marked by a series of notable achievements and milestones. She has held various teaching positions, starting as an Assistant Lecturer and progressing to her current role as an Associate Professor in Molecular Parasitology at Misurata University, Libya. Her expertise encompasses a wide array of subjects, including General Zoology, Parasitology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Histopathology, among others.
